Perfect Pair: Nude Lips & Smokey Eyes

We’re loving the smoldering eyes paired with nude lip colors! Neutral lip hues balance dramatic eyes while enhancing it as the focal point. To score the perfect nude lip, exfoliate lips and moisturize so that color glides on smoothly. A simple lip exfoliate recipe is mixing brown sugar with a little bit of olive oil and gently rub back and forth buffing away flaky layers and revealing a more supple and smoother lips. Rinse with cold water and apply lip balm. Another trick often used for nude lips is priming lips with a thin layer of foundation. This enhances nude hues while allowing your lip color to stay on longer. Follow with lip colors such as Rae’s very own Kissing Bandit, Little Dreamer or Island Girl Lipstick. Smokey eyes can go from subtle to uber dramatic with one stroke of eyeliner and a couple extra coats of mascara. To create the smokey eye effect we usually stick with 3 shades using the lightest shades throughout entire eyelid and layer the darker shades from outer corners of your eyes.
